Job Description

The listing that defines a role's responsibilities, requirements and sometimes its pay and location rules.

A job description (JD) sets out what a role involves — duties, required skills, seniority, and often the salary band and location or timezone constraints. Reading it closely tells you not just whether to apply, but how to tailor your application.

For remote roles, scrutinise the location and timezone requirements: a "remote" JD can hide a country restriction. Mirroring the JD's language also helps you clear the ATS.
