Timezone Overlap

The hours during which a remote worker's schedule intersects with the rest of the team's working hours.

Timezone overlap is the window when you and your teammates are online at the same time. Even async teams usually ask for a few overlap hours for live discussion and quick decisions.

Job listings often state a required overlap, such as "4 hours with US Eastern." Check this early — a role that hires globally but demands full overlap with headquarters can effectively rule out your timezone.
