At-Will Employment

A mostly US arrangement where either side can end the employment at any time, for almost any reason.

Under at-will employment, common in the United States, an employer or employee can terminate the relationship at any moment without cause or notice, apart from illegal reasons such as discrimination. There is typically no statutory notice period.

Most other countries offer stronger protections and required notice, so at-will is an important distinction when comparing offers from companies based in different regions.
