Sprint

A fixed, short period — usually one to two weeks — in which a team completes a set batch of planned work.

A sprint is a time-boxed cycle used in agile software teams. At the start the team commits to a set of tasks; at the end they review what shipped and plan the next round. Sprints create a steady, predictable rhythm of delivery.

For remote teams, the sprint structure is valuable because it makes progress visible without constant check-ins — you can see what was committed and what got done, asynchronously.
