Sabbatical
A sabbatical is a long leave — weeks or months — usually offered after several years with a company, for rest, travel, study or personal projects. Unlike quitting, your job is held for your return.
Some remote companies offer sabbaticals as a retention perk and a defence against burnout. If offered, check whether it is paid, how long you must stay to qualify, and whether your role is guaranteed on return.
