Ghosting

When a candidate or employer suddenly stops responding during hiring, with no explanation.

Ghosting is the abrupt end of communication — an employer who never replies after an interview, or a candidate who vanishes mid-process. It's common in high-volume, fully online hiring where it's easy to disappear behind a screen.

You can't fully prevent it, but applying to focused, responsive companies and following up politely once or twice reduces the frustration. Don't let a single ghost stall your search — keep your pipeline full.
