Company Retreat (Offsite)

An occasional in-person gathering where a distributed team meets to work, plan and bond.

A company retreat, or offsite, brings a remote team together in one place for a few days of planning, workshops and socialising. For fully distributed teams it replaces the in-person connection an office would provide, usually once or twice a year.

Retreats are a strong positive signal — they show a company invests in its remote culture. Check the expected travel frequency before accepting, as it varies from optional to mandatory quarterly trips.
