What Does a Account Manager Do?

Manages ongoing customer relationships to keep clients happy and grow their accounts.

An account manager owns the relationship after the sale — keeping clients satisfied, renewing contracts, and finding opportunities to expand the account. Where an account executive wins new business, the account manager retains and grows it.

The role is relationship-driven and runs well remotely over calls and email. It rewards people who are organised, responsive and genuinely invested in customer success.
