What Does a Account Executive Do?
An account executive (AE) is a closing sales role: they run discovery calls, give demos, handle objections and negotiate contracts to turn qualified opportunities into paying customers, usually against a quota. Leads often come from an SDR team.
Remote sales is common and lucrative, typically paid as base plus commission — see OTE. Communication, persistence and strong pipeline discipline drive success.
