Time Tracking
Time tracking logs how long you spend working or on specific tasks. Freelancers use it to bill clients accurately; some employers use it for hourly payroll or, more controversially, to monitor remote staff.
There is a real divide here: output-focused companies rarely track time, trusting results instead, while surveillance-heavy ones lean on it. A job's stance on time tracking says a lot about how much it trusts its people.
