Kanban

A visual workflow system that tracks tasks as cards moving across columns like To Do, Doing and Done.

Kanban manages work as a board of cards that flow through stages. It limits how much can be "in progress" at once, exposing bottlenecks and keeping a team focused on finishing rather than starting. Tools like Trello, Jira and Linear are built around it.

Because the board is a single shared source of truth, Kanban is naturally async-friendly: anyone, in any timezone, can see the exact state of the work at a glance.
