What Does a Backend Developer Do?
A backend developer builds the server side of an application — the business logic, APIs, authentication and databases that the frontend and other services rely on. They focus on correctness, security and performance, and design data models that hold up as traffic grows.
Backend work is well suited to remote teams because much of it is deep, async-friendly problem solving. Strong fundamentals in databases and API design travel across almost any employer.
